Organize your work into focused projects with scoped conversations

Projects

Projects let you organize your AIRA conversations into focused workspaces. Each project can have its own instructions, files, and conversation history, so AIRA stays on-topic without you having to repeat context every time.

What is a Project?

A project is a container within AIRA that groups related conversations together. When you start a chat inside a project, AIRA automatically includes the project's instructions and context. This is useful when you have ongoing work that spans multiple conversations — like a product launch, a quarterly analysis, or a specific client engagement.

Creating a Project

  1. Navigate to the Projects page from the AIRA section in the sidebar.
  2. Click New Project in the top right corner.
  3. Enter a name for the project.
  4. Optionally add a description explaining what the project is about.
  5. Choose the visibility (see below).
  6. Optionally add instructions (you can also do this later).
  7. Click Create Project.

After creation, you are taken to the project detail page where you can start conversations, add instructions, and upload files.

Project Instructions

Instructions are custom guidelines that AIRA follows for every conversation within the project. They persist across all chats in that project, so you do not need to repeat them.

To add or edit instructions, open the project detail page and click the Instructions card on the right side. A dialog opens where you can write or update your instructions.

Example instructions:

  • "Always respond in French."
  • "Focus on Shopify data for Q1 2026."
  • "Use a formal, executive-summary tone."

Project instructions persist across all conversations in that project. Every new chat automatically includes them as context for AIRA.

Generate with AIRA

If you are not sure what instructions to write, click Generate with AIRA. AIRA drafts instructions based on your project name, description, and any existing chat history or files.

Improve with AIRA

Already have instructions but want to refine them? Click Improve with AIRA to have AIRA review and enhance your existing instructions. It will rewrite them for clarity, completeness, and effectiveness.

Project Visibility

When creating or editing a project, you choose one of two visibility levels:

VisibilityWho Can Access
RestrictedOnly you can see and use this project
Anyone in your workspaceAll workspace members can access the project and its conversations

You can change visibility at any time by editing the project.

Starting Conversations in a Project

From the project detail page, click Start New Chat. This opens AIRA with the project context automatically loaded. The project's instructions are injected into the conversation so AIRA follows them from the first message.

You can also start a project-scoped chat from the AIRA chat page by selecting a project before typing your message.

Project Name in Chat

When you are in a project-scoped conversation, the project name appears in the chat interface so you always know which project you are working in. You can click it to navigate back to the project detail page.

Project Files

Each project has an associated file folder in your Library. You can upload documents directly from the project detail page by clicking the Files card. These files are available for AIRA to reference in project conversations using file mentions.

Managing Projects

On the Projects page, you can:

  • Search — Filter projects by name or description.
  • Sort — Order projects by activity, name, or creation date.
  • Edit — Update the name, description, or visibility.
  • Archive — Hide a project without deleting it.
  • Delete — Permanently remove a project and its associated folder. Conversations are not deleted.

Each project card shows its visibility icon, conversation count, and last activity time.
