Product Analytics

Track product performance, identify top sellers, and analyze returns across your catalog

Product Analytics

The Product Analytics dashboard helps you understand which products drive the most revenue, how frequently they sell, and which items see the highest return rates.

Prerequisites

This dashboard requires an active Shopify integration. If you haven't connected Shopify yet, head to Settings > Integrations to get started.

Learn how to connect Shopify

Accessing Product Analytics

  1. Navigate to your workspace
  2. Click Product Analytics in the sidebar
  3. Use the date range selector to adjust the analysis period

Dashboard Sections

Product Analytics is organized into three tables, each highlighting a different aspect of product performance.

Product Sales

The main table ranks your products by units sold within the selected date range. Each row shows:

  • Rank -- Position based on total units sold
  • Product name -- With a thumbnail image when available
  • Status badge -- Current product status in your Shopify store
  • Units Sold -- Net quantity sold (after refunds)
  • Revenue -- Net sales amount in USD
  • Store link -- Quick link to view the product in your Shopify admin

Product Bundles

Shows products that are frequently purchased together. Use this data to create promotional bundles, cross-sell recommendations, or to understand natural buying patterns.

Product Returns

Highlights products with the highest return rates. Useful for identifying quality issues, misleading product descriptions, or sizing problems.

Product Status Badges

Each product displays a color-coded badge reflecting its current status in your Shopify store:

  • Active (green) -- Currently available for purchase
  • Draft (amber) -- Not yet published; appears here because it was sold in past orders
  • Archived (amber) -- Removed from your storefront but still present in historical order data
  • Deleted (red) -- No longer exists in your Shopify store but appears in past orders

Seeing a "Deleted" or "Archived" product with high revenue? That data still counts toward your historical performance and customer insights.

Top Products by Segment

You can also view top-purchased products within individual customer segments. When viewing a segment or persona, look for the Top Products card to see which items that specific audience buys most.

This is useful for:

  • Tailoring marketing campaigns to segment preferences
  • Understanding product affinity across customer cohorts
  • Identifying cross-sell opportunities for specific audiences

Refreshing Data

Click the Refresh button in the top-right corner of any product table to pull the latest data from your Shopify integration. Product analytics data is cached for performance, so a manual refresh ensures you see the most recent orders.

Common Questions

Why is a product showing revenue but zero units?

This can happen when refunds bring the net quantity to zero while partial refund amounts leave a small net revenue balance.

Why don't my numbers match Shopify exactly?

AccessFuel calculates net figures (after refunds) and groups by product title. Slight differences can occur due to refund timing and how variant-level data rolls up to the product level.
